Healthcare professionals throughout the state have been busy maintaining new regulations, safety measures and restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 virus. While our communities are busy protecting our most vulnerable seniors, they too have been reinventing the supportive care those living with dementia need. But how do we keep our individuals living with dementia safe, connected, and engaged during this critical time?
This educational session will assist professionals by:
· Recognizing and maintaining routines so professionals can respond to the individuals needs before a safety, or behavioral expression begins.
· Analyze and taking control of your community environment so that it provides opportunities to connect while at a safe distance.
· Develop and maintain programming that is meaningful and purposeful while still maintaining safety.
· Identify ways to support and guide family members during COVID-19
