Getting the PDPM Initial PPS Assessment Right! Best Practices for Pre-admission, Admission & Day 1-8 Processes

This session of the PDPM Master Class Series will focus on best practices for data collection from pre-admission screening through day eight of the SNF stay. This webinar will review effective systems and suggested timeframes for resident assessment through an Interdisciplinary approach to ensure accurate and timely information is gathered to appropriately report care and services provided on the initial Medicare assessment. Emphasis will be on critical data elements used in the calculation of the PDPM per diem. The RAI MDS Correction Policy will also be reviewed to ensure the appropriate correction of errors should they be identified.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe an effective process for pre-admission screening including early identification of services to be received and comorbid conditions to be treated or managed
  2. Review strategies for incorporating early PDPM data collection processes into current facility practices
  3. Identify opportunities for IDT collaboration to achieve timely and accurate assessment data
