Take the path to certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. This course is a required preparatory seminar for those pursuing CDP┬« certification. Please visit the NCCDP web site at for full details regarding what it takes to earn the CDP designation.

It is not necessary to be pursuing the CDP certification to find the content of this course valuable training. This course is relevant to anyone working in a LTC environment who may care for people with dementia.

Currently 1 in 10 Americans age 65 and older have Alzheimer's disease and someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease every 66 seconds. Participants will:

  • Have an understanding of dementia
  • Identify common causes of aggressive, repetitive and sundowning behaviors in adults
