LeadingAge Indiana Names New President & CEO

The Board of Directors has announced Eric Essley as the new LeadingAge Indiana President & CEO.
Eric joins LeadingAge Indiana after spending eight years as Assistant General Counsel at MDwise, Inc., a Medicaid health plan serving Indiana’s most vulnerable population. Eric previously worked at the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County where he spent five years as an in-house attorney and HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Board Chair, and Executive Director of Marquette, Steven Still is enthusiastic about this new transition for the organization. "Eric’s passion toward serving seniors and our membership was evident from the first minute I met him."
With more than 13 years in the healthcare space, Eric has an extensive background in health law, government relations and advocacy and compliance related matters. Eric has advised and trained staff and executives on legal, legislative and regulatory matters, engaged in policy development, and conducted enterprise risk management efforts.
Eric will replace outgoing President and CEO, Mike Rinebold. "I have known Eric for almost a decade and am pleased that he will bring his personality, skills and experience to benefit the membership of LeadingAge Indiana," Rinebold said.
"Eric will make a great Leader for our LeadingAge team," Shelly Rauch, Board member and Executive Director for Westminster Village North adds. "During the interview process, I was most impressed with his experience and his desire to get to know the membership."
Eric has also practiced law in both Indiana and Illinois representing plaintiffs and defendants in products liability, medical malpractice, insurance defense, and environmental litigation matters.
He earned a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, an M.P.A from Indiana University – Indianapolis, and a B.A. in History and Political Science from Indiana University – Bloomington.
Born and raised in northeast Indiana, Eric now resides in Zionsville with his wife and their two teenage sons. Eric has been active in community service as well serving on the boards of directors of the Legacy House, the Indiana Association of Health Plans, and Zionsville Little League.
