The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) launched a new initiative March 29, 2012 aimed at improving behavioral health and reducing the use of antipsychotic medications in nursing home residents. CMS has set a goal of 15% reduction in antipsychotic use by the end of 2012. How will you comply?

Afternoon Sessions:

Abuse preventions covering the abuse prohibition protocol, abuse prevention tools and interventions. Law enforcement’s views on resident abuse.

Alzheimer’s Dementia Services of Northern Indiana recommended non-pharmacological behavior interventions to prevent and manage Alzheimer’s and Dementia resident behaviors.
